From Brendan, Chief Executive:
On 3 March 2016, I am taking part in the Newcastle CEO Sleepout at St. James’ Park football ground, where I will be joining 46 other CEOs and business leaders from a variety of industries across the North East. We will give up our beds for the night, brave the cold, and sleep outdoors to raise awareness and funds for homeless people and those living in poverty in Tyneside.
At Concern Group we regularly work with clients who are, or have been, homeless and are experiencing mental ill-health. In fact, around 70% of people accessing homelessness services in the UK have a mental health issue.[1]
A lack of understanding and support for people living chaotic lives can lead to a downward spiral of mental ill-health, substance misuse, crime, offending, homelessness, and exclusion, so I am delighted to take part in Newcastle’s CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for these issues.
This is where you can help! Newcastle’s CEO Sleepout in 2014 raised over £36,000, a target that we are hoping to surpass this year. The easiest way to sponsor me is via my JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/Brendan-Hill, but if you would prefer an alternative method, please do get in touch. More detail about the Sleepout can be found at www.ceosleepoutuk.com/newcastle/.
I appreciate your consideration and please do get in touch if you would like any further information.
