We’re really proud to share that we’ve been named 70 among the top 100 in the large employers category for the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing™
The Best Workplaces for Wellbeing list focuses on colleague experience of wellbeing at work, including:
- Work-life balance
- Sense of fulfilment
- Social support
- Job satisfaction
- Financial security
These experiences are used to measure the best workplaces for wellbeing in the UK!
Our latest survey saw 74% of colleagues agree that we actively support physical and mental wellbeing – a rise of 15% in 2 years.
We proud to say that we get it – we know that life isn’t all about work, which is why we’re so proud to be included in this list for our commitment to colleague wellbeing. For our colleagues to feel fulfilled, motivated and balanced – we know that we need to support them in the best ways possible that work for them. In the last 2 years, we’ve introduced a range of wellbeing related colleague benefits that do just that:
- 30 days annual leave, rising to 32 at five years service
- Wellbeing programme through Vitality, including access to talking therapies, GP appointments for colleagues and their children, access to free physiotherapy and more
- Wagestream financial wellbeing app for all including financial coaching and salary draw down, together with financial wellbeing education sessions run for colleagues including managing savings and pensions, and access to a free will writing service
- Family-friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay, together with a menopause policy and support group
- Mindfulness sessions for all
- Life assurance, a free scheme offering 3x your annual salary
- Learning and development opportunities including leadership training, funding for additional qualifications and more
“Resources introduced throughout this year for promotion of physiological and psychological well being for all staff is very beneficial for us all, its a great feeling to know support and help is there if I need it within the Company. I appreciate that.” – Anonymous
Alongside our benefits, we also run events to encourage colleague engagement and create a culture that feels welcoming, supportive and empowering. We host a bi-monthly ‘Everyturn Get-Together’ where colleagues can tune in to hear updates from our executive team, find out more around exciting projects that are taking place, and to celebrate the winners of our Values Awards, nominated by our colleagues themselves. Our Values Awards are based on our organisational values, that we uphold through everything we do. During these get-togethers, colleagues also have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with our executive team.
“They really care about you as a person and your wellbeing as much as they do the patients we serve. they strike the right balance perfectly in my view of needing to have a business head on but running things in an ethical way for the patients and staff too.” – Anonymous
Recently, we also hosted our annual ‘Move This May’ competition! Move This May is not only a great way for us to encourage colleagues from across our many services and locations to collaborate and work together, it’s a chance for our people to focus on their health and wellbeing in a fun (and slightly competitive!) environment. This year, we had 30 teams join the challenge, measuring active minutes along with green minutes (active time spent in nature). At the end of May, we had a total of over 446,152 active hours, and 242,845.5 green hours across all of our teams!
Let’s hear from some of our people:
“Being able to buy additional holiday as a trainee has been amazing, it has allowed me to take the time I need to focus on my training and family, allowing the work/life balance that is so crucial for our mental health.
Not something I have ever had in a workplace before.” – Jenna, Therapist
“I’ve only been in post for a year, and I’ve not missed a school play, Christmas concert, or summer picnic – such a refreshing change!
I’ve been able to flex my hours around these and it’s meant the world to me and my kids.” – Jo, Press & Campaigns Executive
