The Calderdale team are busy preparing for this year’s event on 9 October at The Shay Stadium, home of Halifax Town Football Club.
The aim is to raise awareness of mental health, to reduce stigma, and to inform people about how they can access appropriate support. An exciting day is planned, featuring stalls about the service and different treatment options, as well as taster sessions on mindfulness and relaxation techniques. Other local services will also be involved.
Halifax and Ireland International rugby league player, Luke Ambler, will be holding a talk about his family experiences of mental health. The team is currently publicising the event and hopes to attract even more people from the local community than last year’s hugely successful event.
