World Health Day 2017
Friday 7th April 2017 is World Health Day, an event is organised by the World Health Organisation which focuses on the importance of our health.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Depression: Let’s Talk’ – focusing on depression, suicide prevention and encouraging us all to reach out and talk to one another.
Talking to others about their mental health doesn’t have to be difficult – there are some simple ways that you can start the conversation:
- Simply asking ‘how are you?’ and listening fully to answer
- Let the person know you are there if they ever need to talk
- Not comfortable with a face to face conversation? Sending a text or email can be just as effective
