We’re so pleased to share that we’ve been accredited as a Bronze Carbon Literate Organisation by the UN-recognised Carbon Literacy Project. This recognises our commitment to equipping our colleagues with the knowledge to play a proactive role in reducing Everyturn’s carbon emissions, and the work we’re doing to transparently move towards a net zero future.
Carbon Literacy helps us to know what we can do to make a positive shift in how we live, work, and behave in response to the climate crisis.
Our bespoke Carbon Literacy training course focuses on our core organisational values (innovation, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence) to achieve the Carbon Literacy Project’s goal of:
Creating ‘an awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.’
Of course, we also focus on the mental health impacts of the climate crisis, which reflects our colleague’s daily work and our organisational culture.

Colleague feedback from our training on Carbon Literacy Action Day 2024
Our goal is to help our colleagues:
- Understand the causes and impacts of the climate crisis.
- Understand the connections between mental health, wellbeing, and sustainability.
- Learn what is happening locally and nationally to fight the climate crisis.
- Be empowered to make a positive difference and influence others to make changes.
Let’s hear from Lee Brown, our Senior Learning and Development Advisor, who delivers our training course:
“Developing our bespoke Carbon Literacy training and working with colleagues across Everyturn has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve seen first-hand the passion and dedication of our teams, across all services and roles, coming together to drive meaningful and lasting change.
“Creating space for colleagues to share ideas, reflect, and learn from one another has been especially important as we tackle the climate crisis. Change happens when people feel heard and empowered, and through this training, we’ve seen incredible discussions emerge, sparking new ideas and reinforcing our shared commitment to sustainability.
“It’s important to us as an organisation that our training is not only informative but also engaging and impactful, and our Carbon Literacy course has proven to be just that.
Each group I’ve worked with has been truly inspiring, demonstrating a strong commitment to making a difference, not just within our organisation but also in the wider community and environment. Seeing colleagues support one another, the people we support, and our shared sustainability goals has made me immensely proud of what we’re achieving together.”
