We would like to give a huge thank you to the singers of Choirmaster, who have donated an amazing £2,600 to Kind Mind Community, our recovery college in South Tyneside!
Choirmaster is a community choir, led by Kevin Reay and Adam Allinson, which aims to bring people together through a love of music and singing and also organise social events.
Members of our Moving Forward service have become involved with Choirmaster over the last six months, and from that a great relationship has blossomed. Kevin and Adam from Choirmaster commented:
“We both really appreciate the work that goes into putting people back on their feet and simply putting a smile onto their face. Mental health and singing have direct benefits, as proven since launching our choir in February 2019.
“It’s been truly amazing to watch people learn, develop their confidence and, most importantly, people have now got a buzzing social calendar and lots of exciting opportunities upcoming.”
The choir’s Christmas concert raised an amazing £2,600, which they have generously donated to Kind Mind Community (KMC)! KMC plans to use the funds to develop creativity across South Tyneside – they will deliver workshops in creative writing, acting, singing, and aim to put on a show later in the year. Choirmaster have kindly offered to get involved and everyone is very excited about the project!
We can’t thank Adam and Kevin enough for their generosity and hard work in raising this amazing amount of money for us.
