We’re thrilled to see our latest Safe Haven open in Newcastle city centre today. It’s the North East’s second Safe Haven, after our Ashington Safe Haven opened six months ago.
The Newcastle Safe Haven provides out-of-hours emotional and practical support to Newcastle residents aged 18+ who are experiencing mental health crisis or distress.
We work with people to manage their emotions and find practical support to tackle the practical issues affecting their mental health, which could include:
- Financial worries or debt
- Unemployment or issues at work
- Housing
- Relationship difficulties
- Social isolation
The Safe Haven is now open 2pm-10pm every Tuesday and Thursday-Sunday, with in-person and online appointments available by referral from professionals.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in getting our Safe Haven ready for launch! We’re really proud to provide this crucial support for our community.
