We’re delighted that Streetwise, an award-winning charity for children and young people, will be joining Everyturn Mental Health in January 2025. We’re combining our experience, expertise, and proud histories to reach even more people in the North East and beyond.
Everyturn has provided specialist mental health services for adults since 1986, and Streetwise has given support and counselling to children and young people since 1991. We’re proud to bring together our considerable experience, along with our shared values and passion to bring people the support they need, in the heart of their communities. This merger will bring us closer to our vision of no one struggling alone with their mental health.
We know that 1 in 6 young people aged 5-16 years in England have a clinically diagnosable mental health problem, but 70% of children and young people don’t get the right mental health support at an early enough age. This must change and we all need to work together to make it happen.
Adam Crampsie, Chief Executive at Everyturn, said:
“We’re so proud to welcome the Streetwise team to Everyturn. They have been providing high-quality, well-respected mental health support to young people for over 30 years. Everyturn has a history of collaborating with Streetwise and we’re united by our shared values and vision for mental health care that’s truly person-centred and responsive to our communities’ needs. Now the work begins on our exciting plans for the growing impact we can make together.”
Mandy Coppin, Chief Executive at Streetwise, said:
“We’re very excited about joining forces with Everyturn and believe that together we can strengthen, consolidate, sustain, and develop more services for our children, young people and adults, at a time when resources are stretched and the need is so high.
“These are challenging times for us all and we believe more than ever that we need to work in partnership, share our expertise and resources in order to be creative, motivated, and bring about positive change whilst always remaining true to our values and beneficiaries.”
