We’re so proud to have been named 34 among the top 100 in the large employers category for the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™.
The Best Workplaces for Women™ list recognises companies in the UK that are committed to gender balance in their workplace; removing barriers to women progressing in their careers; and creating workplaces where all employees, regardless of gender, can flourish.
Being included on this list is something we’re really proud of, as it shows our commitment to creating a consistent and positive experience for our people. Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do as a charity, so we’re delighted to hear that our female colleagues’ experience of working at Everyturn is a positive one.
From our anonymous colleague feedback in our recent Great Place To Work® survey, we’re pleased to say that some of our strongest areas are:
- Wellbeing
- Our benefits
- Training and development
- Workspace and facilities
- Communication of change
- Diversity and inclusion
“It is often suggested that women are ‘too emotional,’ and in past workplaces, I felt ashamed to express when I was feeling overwhelmed or dealing with personal issues because of this notion. However, at Everyturn, I feel encouraged and supported to voice my feelings. Here, both men and women are recognised as emotional beings, and I feel it’s okay to not be okay sometimes.”
In the last year, we’ve implemented new policies to support our colleagues, on issues such as menopause and gender identity. We’ve also recently signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge, to make sure that all our colleagues going through the menopause are supported at work.
We’re also really proud of our training and development opportunities, giving our people the chance to develop their careers and access over 70 different apprenticeship opportunities from level two to level seven – including leadership and nursing.
“I feel incredibly lucky to be an employee at EveryTurn Mental Health. In just nine months, I have thrived thanks to numerous volunteer opportunities, including becoming a Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, a member of the Workplace Experience Group, and a participant in the new Future Leaders Course. EveryTurn ensures all voices are heard equally and actively promotes women’s equality, offering many opportunities for growth and empowerment, which have been instrumental in my professional development.”
We are so proud to say that this is the fourth award from Great Place To Work® over the past 12 months, you can find out more about our other awards here:
