Hi! It’s my first week here at Everyturn Mental Health and I’m excited to be joining such an impactful organisation.
I’m proudly Gateshead born and bred and have spent the majority of my life in North East England, barring stints at university and in South Korea (where I became kimchi king).
I love the outdoors and most weekends you’ll find me out on my bike, hiking through Northumberland National park, and swimming in the Tyne. Unless Newcastle United are playing.
For the past few years, I’ve been working to grow the renewable energy sector in the North East and supporting organisations with their Net Zero strategies.
In my new role as Net Zero & Sustainability Lead here at Everyturn, I’ll be championing our journey towards a more sustainable organisation that cares deeply for the planet and the people who live in it.
I won’t sugar-coat the fact that we are living in the middle of a climate and ecological emergency. The past eight years were the warmest on record (WMO) creating extreme weather patterns and disasters. One million of the world’s estimated 8 million species of plants and animals are threatened with extinction. (IPBES)
But we can remain hopeful about our planet’s future. More individuals and organisations are educating themselves about their impact on the environment and taking actions to limit harm.
I’m looking forward to providing those opportunities here at Everyturn.
