We provide tenancy and support to young people. We care about the whole person, so we focus on physical health as well as mental wellbeing.
Who we’re here for
We support young people aged 18-30 in Newcastle who have been diagnosed with their first episode of psychosis, who may also have issues related to drugs and alcohol.
Young people experiencing psychosis can often be at greater risk of becoming dependent on families, being socially excluded, or becoming homeless.
The support we offer
We help our tenants to live independent lives, manage their symptoms, and move towards recovery by developing skills for living well in the community.
Our tenants are involved in training, education, and employment, and we encourage them to move on to greater independence within two years.
We have four self-contained flats with specialist daily support provided by registered mental health nurses and community support staff.
We aim to reduce the levels of intervention required from:
- Inpatient/A&E/crisis services.
- Drug and alcohol services.
- Police.
- Youth offending teams.
- Debt management.
- Homelessness service.
