We're so proud to be partnering with Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Trust (CNTW) on this brilliant NHS England pilot to bring 24/7 support to people in Cumbria!

The support hub in Whitehaven will be one of six new neighbourhood support centres, which bring together a range of health and social care services under one roof.

To deliver support, we’ll be working alongside Cumbria Health, Home Group, iCan Wellbeing Group CIO, and The Well Communities CIC. Together, we’ll support people with their mental health and the issues that are impacting their wellbeing, including housing, money, and employment.

The hub will also help to prevent people needing to be admitted to hospital, as it will include four short-stay beds for people who need support for a little longer.

This hub is a pioneering new way of working: delivering person-centred, integrated care in the heart of the community.

We and our partners of the Whitehaven hub said:

This investment will be life-changing for people in Whitehaven and the surrounding area. It will allow us to transform the way mental health care is provided locally.

A 24/7 support hub in the town centre will bring together specialist health, social care and community services, so people can get the right help, at the right time.

We have worked with local people and organisations to get the right people around the table to develop this new service, and we are excited to begin the work to make it a reality, together.

When people are struggling with their mental health, they need and deserve accessible support that focuses on their whole lives. We’re really proud to be playing our part to bringing community support to the people of Cumbria.

The hub will open later this year.
