We're delighted to have partnered with a charity called Mental Health Innovations to offer free, confidential and 24/7 mental health support via text message, though their service called Shout.
From today, our partnership with the Shout text messaging support service allows adults in Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland to get connected via text message to a trained Shout Volunteer.
The service is open around the clock and can help with issues like anxiety, stress, loneliness, depression, and suicidal thoughts. If you’re feeling anxious, lonely, overwhelmed, suicidal or not quite yourself, Shout’s volunteers are here for you 24/7, to help you reach a calmer place, with a plan to move forward.
The partnership launches today, alongside the opening of our Northumberland Safe Haven, which offers out-of-hours support to people in mental health crisis.
Shout is a free, confidential and anonymous service, designed to provide people with in-the-moment support. Texting Shout doesn’t appear on phone bills and all messages are confidential, unless there is concern about someone’s safety. Shout is available and free to use from all major UK mobile networks.
